HerSuiteSpot Celebrates Women’s History Month with Trailblazers in Media Awards and HerRise PitchFest

National Grid and Scroobious Sponsor HerRise PitchFest, Providing Critical Funding for Women of Color Small Business Owners

Rockville Center, NY – HerSuiteSpot is proud to announce its celebration of 10 years of HerRise Events in partnership with Molloy University, sponsored by National Grid and Scroobious. This women’s history month we celebrate by honoring trailblazers in media with the Trailblazers in Media Awards, and a live HerRise PitchFest competition, where one lucky small business will win a $5,000 equity-free grant.

HerSuiteSpot is proud to recognize Kristin Thorne of WABC, Kerry Gillick-Goldberg of KGG Enterprises, and Miya Jones of Shades of Long Island for their outstanding contributions to the field with the Trailblazers in Media Awards. Thorne, Gillick-Goldberg, and Jones have each demonstrated a commitment to telling diverse stories that often go untold, giving a voice to marginalized communities, and challenging the status quo. Their dedication to excellence in media serves as an inspiration to us all, and we are honored to celebrate their achievements. Congratulations to Kristin Thorne, Kerry Gillick-Goldberg, and Miya Jones on this well-deserved recognition. Additional honorees will be announced.

The HerRise PitchFest competition provides a unique platform for women of color small business owners to showcase their entrepreneurial talents, receive invaluable feedback from industry experts, and have the chance to win non-equity funding for their business. The event is open to all women of color small business owners in New York State, and we encourage all eligible entrepreneurs to apply.

According to HerSuiteSpot Founder Marsha Guerrier, “Women of color small business owners often face systemic barriers to funding and resources, which can make it difficult for them to grow and succeed. That’s why events like HerRise PitchFest are so important, as they provide an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and compete for much-needed funding and resources.”

We would like to thank our sponsors, National Grid and Scroobious, for their generous support, as they play a vital role in making this event possible. Their commitment to supporting women of color small business owners is truly inspiring, and we are grateful for their partnership.

The upcoming HerRise PitchFest, will feature 3 women of color entrepreneurs pitching their businesses for one to receive a $5,000 grant, mentoring and prizes.
